Infant Car Seat Handle Positions Numbered

In the US, the carry handle is approved to be in any locked position (with or without the base) in the vehicle. For additional stability, Britax recommends that the ReboundReduce carry handle be in the upright position (Position 1) to help reduce the rebound movement of the child restraint in the event of an accident. It is required for the carry handle on Canadian models to be in the upright position (Position 1) for use in a vehicle. Always use the upright position (Position 1) to carry.

Yes. There is an extra belt path on the back of the seat for added security when installed without the base. Before installing the Britax Willow/Willow S/Willow SC/Cypress Infant Car Seat without the base, follow these steps:

Crotch rolls and receiving blankets

1. Secure the child in the child restraint before installing in the vehicle;

2. Check that your vehicle seat belt is compatible with the child restraint by referring to your vehicle owner’s manual; and

3. Check your vehicle owner’s manual to determine how to lock your vehicle belt system.

NOTE:
Compatibility for US and Canadian products may be different. If the positioning insert provided with the Britax car seat does not position the child as needed, it is acceptable to place a rolled receiving blanket on each side of the child for lateral support once the child is properly secured within the harness as instructed in the user guide. The rolled receiving blankets should not be placed between the child and the harness.

It is not acceptable to use a crotch roll with any BRITAX car seat to position a child.

The best infant car seat is one that fits your child, fits in your vehicle, and is easy for you to use every time. You will notice that some child seats are easier to use than others, while some will not fit into certain vehicles, and some of each type are less suited for the child's size and development. Read all product labels and verify that the specifications of the child seat meet your current needs.
