A 'Bare act' is the actual legislation passed by the Parliament of India. Generally, an act sets out the high level legal and policy principles applicable to the subject matter of the law.
Most acts are accompanied by 'subsidiary legislation' such as rules, regulations, notifications and orders; which address the actual implementation detail of the act.

ContentsThe Legislature of India enacted the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 on 9th August 2019, to provide for protection of the interests of consumers and for the said purpose, to establish authorities for timely and effective administration and settlement of consumers’ disputes and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The act is associated with the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution – Department of Consumer Affairs.
All important central acts are published in both English and Hindi language versions. The official PDFs can be downloaded from the website of the Legislative Department of the Ministry of Law and Justice. The acts are arranged as per the year of their enactment.
